If you always seek more in yourself and your impact, chances are you find yourself considering other prospects, within and outside your current organization.
When do you look? When is appropriate to apply? Who do you tell?
First, know no matter where you are, you will always have a project that is pending that you were looking to see through. This doesn’t need to hold you back but can be considered for a year or two.
There will always be higher pay but if this is a factor consider all costs. First you will owe money to your current district possibly. Second, you will need to find how much you will lose for month of the transition. Third consider your insurance costs, when a new plan is available, and cost difference. Finally look at the steps available, various potions for the future, and days you work per year. Is it worth the change and proving your impact over agin?
Next are your personal considerations. Location and driving, how it will impact your life with transitions, and meetings. If you are taking other duties such as other classes or new changes in your personal life it may be an additional layer of stress. Can you handle that at this time? Do you have support for the transition?
Lastly what means the most to you? Where do you feel fulfilled? Are you appreciated? Where do you see the potential for that?
Based on all this, what are you likely to be happy about seeking and what will you regret most? Would you regret the changes and what might occur or what you may miss out on at your current organization? Will you regret not applying when you had the chance?
Best wishes in this decision.
